My Holiday Style Guide

The joy and holiday cheer is definitely all around us! The holiday festivities and celebrations are in full swing! What we are going to wear for each party or for our Christmas photos are usually in our thoughts. Dressing up for the holiday can be so much fun! It’s a time to get a bit more dressed up and glamorous. This is also the time when you can get really creative by dressing up according to the type of holiday party you will be attending. Are you going to attend a more casual party, semi-formal, or more of a formal gathering where you have to dress up in a gown or cocktail dress?

The best thing about holiday fashion is that colors get more vibrant and jewel toned and makeup colors darken up or become more shimmery.  Now is your time to sparkle and shine when it comes to makeup ladies! I love dressing up for the holidays. Especially since I normally wear flats/gym shoes, jeans, and cardigans to work since I’m on my feet all day teaching little ones, so any opportunity to get dolled up makes me feel so festive and special! I am sharing five of my favorite holiday looks to give you a bit of fashion inspiration this season.  This year I am not going to any black tie events so these are actual outfits I would wear to a party or for my Christmas photos. It’s the holiday season so lets celebrate in style! May your days be merry and bright and have a wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year lovelies!!

With love, Sonia

This emerald-green dress was on clearance for $13.90 at Target! You should have seen how happy I was when I found this little gem! It’s so comfortable and the fit is perfect!

This Black fur vest from Marc Jacobs is one of my absolute favorite pieces in my wardrobe this season! It adds extra elegance, glam, and texture to any outfit and it is so warm and cozy! Black fur pom pom hat is from Ann Taylor.

Whenever I wear these black booties, people stop to compliment me or ask me where they are from. They are a brand from Italy called Aquatalia and I absolutely adore these black suede waterproof boots with leather trim detail. I purchased them from Nordstrom.  This brand is worth the extra splurge for the quality, uniqueness, comfort, and style. You can go to http://www.aquatalia.com to check out their beautiful shoes.

Throw on a jeweled cuff bracelet to instantly dress up an outfit. I also love the lace up detail on the front of this dress.

Beaded Top is from Marshalls and my skirt is from Banana Republic.

For a more laid back holiday party atmosphere, my go to outfit would be this! My fitted gorgeous blue velvet blazer is from Bloomingdales by Elie Tahari worn with a white collared button up shirt and Adidas gym shoes. How cute yet stylish would you look rocking this outfit to a holiday party!?

A polka dot button up like I’m wearing in this picture or any printed blouse can give your outfit a bit more character and the leather strip detail on this blazer is divine! Velvet is an absolute MUST for this fall/winter season!! The shimmer, sheen, and feel of it on always makes me feel luxurious!

This mini sheath dress is the perfect shade of wine and is from Nordstrom. My short trench jacket is from Banana Republic. Fashion tip: wearing nude shoes make your legs look longer. Sandals are by Vince Camuto and I purchased them in black and nude because they are comfy, do not have a very high heel, and are a classic. Oh, baby its cold outside so I most definitely would wear thick black tights and some boots with this dress now. Took these pics a few weeks ago without tights for fashion purposes when it wasn’t that cold out!

This outfit is a more dressed up version of casual but still super comfortable and stylish to wear for a casual holiday party. Top is from Banana Republic and these are my favorite jeans from Kensie.  Love the comfort and stretch of these jeans.  You can find them at http://kensie.com

This tie neck top in this gorgeous shade of burgundy with a matching lip and some fun tie up heals are perfect to glam things up! You can throw on a fitted blazer, moto jacket, or cardigan if you get cold.  A side pony tail will complete the look! Especially on bad hair days!

You can really see more of the tie up ruffle detail on these vintage Valentino silk shoes with suede flowers sown on the front and back of them. These are my absolute favorite shoes in my collection!
