My Fall Essentials

It’s that splendid time of year again…pumpkin spice and everything nice! The enchanting colors of fall changing on leaves and the crisp refreshing air blowing your hair in the wind. The colors of your wardrobe changing along with the season and the layering of clothes, scarves, plaid, cozy sweaters, jackets, and boots begins! I get excited just thinking about it! The nail polish gets darker, lipstick gets a bit deeper, and hair usually gets freshly colored a bit more golden copper for me…Yes! Fall is officially in the air!

I love the feeling I get deep inside my soul in the fall. The adventure of a new season filled with endless possibilities that draws closer to the anticipation of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Year lurking ever so quickly around the corner.

I like to take advantage of those chilly fall days and use them up as an excuse to dress comfy casual, but still stylish and layered up to go grab a warm pumpkin spice latte or chai tea to get my day started and motivated to run errands, go shopping, or on a little fall adventure with the family.  Fall fashion is my absolute favorite! Your not as bundled up looking like an Eskimo quite yet in your big and bulky winter coat but you still look comfortable and cozy in those fall layers. I’m sharing some of my favorite fashion essentials to get you “falling” in love with fall. Down below are five different looks that you may be able to replicate with your existing wardrobe! If not, that’s even more of an excuse for you to layer up and go shopping!  It’s jewelry giveaway time ladies! I will be randomly selecting one gorgeous gal to win a bracelet handmade with love by me! I hope you get inspired by my fall essentials and please share any of your favorite things to do in the fall, what you love most about fall, or your fall fashion favorites by commenting down below for your chance to win!! An open shoulder sweater is a must for this season!! It is a trendier fall essential but for $22 dollars at Forever 21, it’s okay if you only wear it a few times. You will get many compliments and your moneys worth the first time you wear it and it comes in several colors.
img_1434
It’s all about the little details…the cut out shoulder, the slit on the bottom of sweater, and a cross body purse also from Forever 21 that was a steal at $19..My leather bracelet cuff was handmade from a friend of mine. I love the simplicity, style, and comfort of this outfit.

Fashion tip: I try to never spend a lot of money on trendier pieces. I always invest in classic and timeless pieces that will not go out of style.

You “kneed” an over-the-knee boot this season! Stuart Weitzman has them at Nordstrom for $650 but I found an exact style of them by Blondo at Nordstrom for $200. I tried them both on and compared them and could not tell the difference between the two other than the price. These boots are waterproof suede and oh so comfortable and sophisticated to wear.
img_1531
I was always apprehensive about buying an over-the-knee boot but I feel elegant and sophisticated in these and they are just slightly over-the-knee. Looking and feeling timeless and effortless is the way to go when it comes to style and fashion.

Bargain alert: this whole outfit minus the boots and purse cost me $45 from Target. A mod inspired mock neck sweater with lovely fall colors and a warm corduroy skirt completes this look! Throw on thick tights and you can wear this look all fall into winter.

This truly has to be my favorite Fall look..A warm cozy sweater, my favorite skinny ripped jeans, an oversized plaid blanket scarf that I recently got at Banana Republic for 50% off, and my comfy yet stylish flat gold shoes with a rubber sole bottom that I got at Aldo on sale for $19. I like combining high end pieces like my Louis Vuitton purse with inexpensive pieces. I love nice things but I love a good bargain even more!

I went from my gold flats to my fringe suede boots for an easy and quick transitional look from day into date night or out to dinner with friends.

This cozy blanket scarf was an instant favorite of mine for the Season! It feels like a cozy blanket I want to have around me all of the time! I love the colors that seem to match with everything and the soft texture with the fringe at the bottom that is perfect for fall!

A patterned mini sheath dress for date night and an oversized cardigan sweater with leather pocket detail both from Banana Republic. The longer sweater balances out the shorter length of the dress.
img_1170
Hey, warm Fall nights happen! It’s Chicago so off with the sweater if you get too hot!
img_1211
Fashion Tip: things tend to fit me a lot shorter because I am so tall but throw on a pair of thick tights, leggings, or skinny jeans with a dress you feel is too short and in an instant your dress becomes a fashionable tunic top.

A comfy plaid top is a Fall essential classic with jeans and flat fringed boots. It’s a casual but stylish way to walk around town or teach second graders since I’m on my feet all day! I like to think layers in the Fall..Layered necklaces, scarves, and if its a chilly day, throw on a jacket or puffy vest to complete the layered look. Oh, and don’t forget the grayish taupe nail polish!
img_1043
Bargain alert: this whole outfit cost me around $60..plaid top was on clearance at Target for $13, fringe boots $29 from Target, and Old Navy Rockstar jeans $20..Second time ever buying shoes from Target and so far so good! Very comfortable.
img_1010
Fashion Tip: This top is very loose and flowy which looks great with some skinny jeans. If you want to cinch in the waist a little, throw on a thin braided leather belt like I did in this picture to define your waist a bit more.

So…I can see you enjoy fall a lot more than I do. Although I don’t like fall, I do love the smell of pumpkin spice candles. It gives me a sense of accomplishment when I’m cleaning my house. The other thing I enjoy and contemplate every fall is how majestic the trees look. I admire their beauty, the different color of the leaves. I think about the lesson they teach us. A lesson about obedience and how God remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. A command was given to them by their creator and till this day, they continue to be obedient. This is what I ❤️ most about fall!

I love the deep rich colors and how a cute printed scarf can make an outfit go from drab to fab! Even in Florida we can we a scarf with a light top! Love your blog, keep it up!!!

I love your style in clothes and accessories. Your style is similar to mine. I love a simple tee with jeans and throw in a printed or funky scarf with it for the fall. I also like a simple tee with jeans and put on a boot or heel that stands out. I love shoes! I feel like a shoe boot or heel brings out the outfit more!
